|The local government is trying to tackle false reporting amid claims that Russia may influence German 2017 election. The officials said they were investigating proliferating fake news items online.
The local intelligence agency BfV revealed that a recent online attack against the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) featured the same signs as a hack of the German parliament 2 years ago, which is now attributed to Russian hacking group (like all other hacks in the world, you know). Back in December 2016, the intelligence agency came to a conclusion that a lot of financial resources and many Russian propaganda instruments were used for fake news dissemination aimed at destabilizing the German government.
Needless to say, Russia believes that even if it wanted to hack every country in the world, this would have been hard to do for a country whose brains keep leaking to the US or Canada (at least 15% of IT graduates leave Russia right away).
So, Germany is currently using all possible means to investigate the spread of fake news online. The OSCE, whose members include Russia and the United States, became the target of a hacking attack in December, but declined to comment on the speculations that the Russians were involved.
German government considers the idea of creating a separate department of the government press office tasked with evaluation and responding to fake news items. Germany will not be the first country to do so – the Czech Republic has already announced a similar move. At the same time, there are other concerns – about the government being seen to try to manage news reports in an election year. Posted by:

Hacking affecting elections......I'm out.....Anything to bs that we don't actually pick who runs the show, i would also consider this the distraction from it as well. They ain't fooling anyone anymore so cry big bad hacker is the blame. Really nice that a handful of people think the entire population is so developmentally challenged that they would just believe blindly....
this thing is becoming a big issue.
Especially the Fake news that hasn't been fact checked by the largest media corporations in the world, whom mostly get their news off of Reuters ticker tape. We in Canada really know what its like to continuously be bombarded by the three major media giants that control the internet, cell phones, Cable and some print. If your not liked by the media and you don't promise to kowtow to their wishes, good luck getting elected.

The fake media that they are shouting might be the true ones and the news they are broadcasting is for 100% the fake ones.
I search my own news and I do look up where this news comes from and who benefits from this news. After that you can determine if the news is real or not, this is still your own opinion but way closer to the real news Im guessing.

So at least 85% of IT people are still in the country - is that a problem?
Also, about 5 years ago a head-hunting campaign was officially started by Russia's MoD, they wanted whitehats to do blackhat job for them (lol).
